Detailed Itinerary

DAY ONE – Wednesday

Rome- Valle Reale Wine Tasting Experience - Agriturismo La Rustica Abruzzo (Pescara countryside)

• 10am: Meet in Rome at FCO Airport OR in Rome in  front of the “Atlantico Hotel” on Via Cavour, right by Termini Station in Rome (upon request)
• Transfer to Italy’s hidden gem, the Abruzzo region and to our lovely Agriturismo La Rustica in the peaceful surroundings and sweeping hills of the Pescara countryside
• Before reaching our Agriturismo we will start and toast to our Abruzzo Wine Escapes at the beautiful Valle Reale Winery in Popoli, where our lovely hosts will introduce us to some of the most exclusive organic Abruzzo wines in stunning surroundings!
•  A walk through the vineyards before sitting for lunch accompanied by highly selected wines knowledgably introduced and described by our hosts
• In the afternoon we reach our charming Agriturismo La Rustica
• Leisure time to relax by the pool and settle in and late afternoon walk through our vineyard and olive grove
• Tonight we will be treated to special local delicacies in company of a local Grower and wines
• A good night’s rest

DAY TWO – Thursday

Pasta & Sauces Cookery lesson – Wine Tastings - Olive Oil Tasting & Special Dinner

• After breakfast…sleeves up for a morning cooking class with Mamma and our chef to disclose the secrets of fresh pasta, and  tomato sauces and the very best of fine Abruzzese and Italian cuisine.
• Lunch to sample the fruits of our labour with wine presented by a Grower and tasting over lunch
• Around 5:30pm it is off to reach the nearby town of Bucchianico for an olive oil tasting experience at lovely Francesca’s passionately restored olive mill, Cantinarte
• A short stroll down Bucchianico’s narrow alleyways and we are all in for yet another treat as dinner nearby will also be a very enjoyable wine-tasting experience!
• Our sommelier Claudio will open his exclusive cantina for a wine-tasting dinner with a delicious selection of local savouries!
• Return to Agriturismo La Rustica

DAY THREE – Friday

La Costa dei Trabocchi – Fish Lunch – Private Wine Tastings – Afternoon at Leisure

• This morning, we head towards the coast on a leisurely drive along the beautiful Costa dei Trabocchi
• Our fish lunch will be a special treat along the coast with a private wine tasting with a local Grower
• Lunch will feature the fruits of the sea directly from the sparkling Adriatic featuring a wine presentation and tasting…a tantalizing gastronomic experience!!
• After lunch and our tasting we will reach the nearby XII century Abbey of S. Giovanni in Venere overlooking the stunning Golfo di Venere and the oldest olive tree in Abruzzo

• Return to Agriturismo La Rustica for a leisurely afternoon to enjoy the pool and relax
• Visit to a local winery or evening at La Rustica with dinner accompanied by local wines and a local Grower              

DAY FOUR – Saturday

Nocciano - Cantine Bosco Wine Tasting - Special Lunch

Pescara & options

• After breakfast, we reach the nearby Cantine Bosco, where Giovanna will guide us through their impressive Wine Museum followed by a guided tasting at the winery
• Lunch will be a truly unique culinary experience at the nearby Agriturismo Le Nostre Radici
• After lunch, return to Agriturismo La Rustica for a bit of relax before exploring the hustle and bustle of Pescara’s vibrant and elegant centre with an espresso and aperitivo in one of the many fashionable cafés by the beach as you explore our sandy waterfront and shopping district OR enjoy our exclusive Add-ons.

• This evening dinner will be either along Pescara’s elegant promenade or back at La Rustica with a guided wine tasting from a local Grower over dinner

DAY FIVE – Sunday

Sulmona Visit – Wine Tasting - Arrivederci

• After breakfast, we head towards the village of Vittorito or Prezza for a visit to a local winery and tasting
• Our wine tasting will be anticipated by a visit to their Cantina
• Lunch will be in the classically beautiful Italian town of Sulmona, world renowned for its confetti
• A leisurely stroll through this historical village to visit its shops and its busy Piazza Garibaldi towered by the historical Roman Aqueduct
• Transfer to Rome airport….arrivederci Abruzzo!!
