In the charming medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio in Abruzzo, at 3,930 ft above sea level in the Gran Sasso, our lovely Valeria is patiently combing, spinning, dyeing and weaving all the wool from her own sheep grazing freely in the majestic Campo Imperatore plateau. 

Valeria's beautiful stone-walled workshop in the village is an amazing treasure trove for real wool Lovers that offers naturally dyed wool bundles in an array of colours and hand-made and hand-knitted hats, scarves, sweaters, shawls and blankets. 

The softest and most delicate original wool from our artisanal source makes Abruzzo1 proud to feature Valeria's unique items and support her and her family in their ambitious project to keep alive the century-long sheep rearing tradition of the Gran Sasso mountain range.
